Why is it wrong to sleep when wearing contact lense?!

Question: and not even a nap.

Answers: and not even a nap.

your eyes need oxygen in order to see. It depends on what kind of contact lenses you wear, but most of them do not allow oxygen into the eye. when your eyes are seeking oxygen and cannot get the amount that they need, they start obtaining it from the blood vessels in your eyes...making your eyes very bloodshot and burn. this happened to me a few years ago and my dr. prescribed the lenses that allow oxygen in. i think its the ones by Acuvue. my dr. has ordered that I take mine out every night before going to bed and replace them every 14 days. Believe it or not, the first year that I followed the drs. orders, my sight improved. the reason for this is that the contact (if left in all of the time) will reshape your cornea causing your vision to worsen.

Because when your eyes stayed close for a certain period of time your eyes dry out and the lens sticks to your eye. When you try to take them out they can tear away the membrane that protects the eye and that cannot be repaired.
