OMG! I know exactly where you are coming from. If I look at an object in day-light, I can still see a black and white image of what I was looking at for about 2 seconds before it fades away.
That is the first sign of blindness. You should see a doctor, this is serious. You will be blind within the next ten days. I'm sorry.

It's like when I tried to smell something with a peg on my nose, I was so devastated I suffered from depression ='(
Try crossing the road with your eyes closed - the sense of danger pumps up your adrenaline and your senses all work more efficiently.
If that fails, at least when you're in hospital after your tragic road accident you'll have pleantly of time to study the insides of your eyelids.
