LASIK is the actual abbreviation. It stands for Laser Insitu Keratomileusis. Now that we have that out of the way -- to your question. It is fine to do it immediately upon turning 18 AS LONG AS YOU ARE STABLE AND YOUR PRESCRIPTION IS NOT CHANGING. So talk to your eye doctor and make sure that you are stable. As to your astigmatism -- LASIK is very capable of dealing with astigmatism.
