Am I seeing eye flashers? or just worrying?!

Question: so I went to my Sears eye doctor cause I have floaters, he said I was fine.. but let him know if I noticed them getting worse or seeing flashers..

now I'm starting to see more floaters, but only when I squint.. and there little which my mom says even she can see a lot when she squints.. so i'm not to worried about that.

but now I'm starting to notice seeing streaks and spots in my eyes that get brighter when I blink, and theyr'e purple.. I know what they are, its from looking into light (glares off of car's, glancing at the sun, etc. etc.) and the image just stays in my eye.. (you know, like normal) but now it seems to be staying longer than usual, and they build up.. so like when I'm on the freeway and stuff, and I see all the sun glares off the oncoming cars.. then I look in the sky, and blink a lot really fast, suddenly I can see a bunch of lights!

so am I just worrying and making it seem like a big deal when its really not.. or should I get my eyes checked again

It may be the result of newly developed floaters, but if it increases in frequency and size or amounts you need to go back to your Optometrist. You fortunately may not need surgery. If you end up needing surgery for any reason, in this case if it's just floaters, I would highly doubt it. Most therapeutic optometrists will dilate your eyes and exam for tears and holes in your retina or detachments. If there are detachments that can impair your vision, your optometrist will send you to the proper specialist for surgery. Usually a general ophthalmologist would not perform this type of surgery, it is usually a retinal specialist that would see you. There is really no need to go to a general ophthalmologist to do the same thing a therapeutic optometrist can do and is extensively trained and qualified to do. Besides, despite your optometrist being in a Sears, he has knowledge of how are eyes are when it is healthy, so he is best at being able to tell if there is anything wrong with you eyes specifically.
Keep the care of your eye continuous by seeing the same doctor if you have found a trust and confidence in that doctor.

if you think you are having serious eye problems go see an opthamologist. NOT an optometrist.

Go to an opthamologist for your eyes.

Go to sears for tools... GET IT?

everyone has a chance for floaters, and everyone has the same problem you have after looking at bright objects... I know it is nearly impossible not to be 'blinded' while driving, but the best advice i can give is to get some darker than normal sunglasses.
So don't worry too much, take proactive steps to prevent it...
Hope that helps :-)
