Has anyone heard of this?!

Question: I had someone that I once worked with tell me she had horrible vision as a child so her parents took her to some eye specialist (they lived in CA) and they had her do eye exersizes... now she sees fine 20/20. That's all I remember, and I had no interest in knowing more at the time so I didn't ask... now I wish I had. Has anyone heard of this? It is for my 6yr. old who is going to need glasses.

yes i have heard of that. they have some workout class at my local ymca. you do pull-ups and what not. but instead of using your arms you use your eye lids. you know if that doesn't work you can also try that laser deal.

Oh yes, they do have eye exercises that can strengthen your vision. And the sooner in age your start the better for the prognosis. However, this may not work for all types of vision abnormalities.

I have personally never heard of that but it may help. I would recommend taking her to a doctor or better yet an eye specialist and talk to them about it. It may not work for everyone so I would ask a professional before hand.

technology has advanced there is only one way to go and that is with laser eye surgery.
My Daughter InLaw had it done a few years ago and still 20 20 :)
Strat researching it on Yahoo or Google
God Luck

by excersises she probably meant certain( non-surgical) procedures that improved the vision. as a child I went to the optometrist for a lazy eye. I was given an eyepatch to wear on my "strong" eye. this forced my lazy eye to work harder (and for me to look ridiculous) and in turn slightly improve my vision. it is much like the test they give you at the optometrist (when you read the letters with one eye closed) but for a prolonged time.
