Getting contacts?!

Question: I'm going to the eye doctor today to see if I'll be able to get contacts.

What are they going to do? Like, are they going to dilate them? My mom told me they might do that, and I've never had that happen. I don't know if it hurts or not. :\

If they dilate your eyes, it won't hurt. It will make your eyes more sensitive to light afterwards for a little while though, so be sure to have some sunglasses handy, in case they don't give you a pair of those blinder-looking shades at the eye doctor's office.

He/she will also measure your pupils to see what size contacts you need, and he may even give you another eye exam to see if your vision is still the same. None of that will hurt.

The eye doctor will train you on how to put in and remove the contacts, and how to clean and store them. You will be sent home with a trial pair of contacts to wear for 2 weeks, to see how you do with them.

Contacts are a great alternative to glasses when it comes to playing sports, etc. Once you're used to them, you'll hardly know you have them in.

they just check your vision, and dilate your eyes. i does not hurt. Then the doc puts your perscrition of contacts in your eyes and your asked to read diffrent things. You dont get to take them home until your training session is done. Contacts are a pain.
