Contact lens question! I'm at my wit's end!?!
Question: This protein build up is killing me! They're clean when I insert them, but within maybe 2 hours, they're foggy! Before I go back to my eye doctor, does anyone know any way to prevent or deal with this? They're RGP lenses...and, yes, I've tried all different sorts of cleaners, bought an ultra-sonic cleaner...what causes this build up?

Oh my gosh, I've totally had the same problem. I wear RGP lenses too. One thing that my doctor said contributed to the build-up was my allergies, so I started using Similasan Allery Eye Drops every night (http://www.similasanusa.com/products-all... But what really did the trick was this Bausch and Lomb Multi Action Solution with protein remover (http://www.bausch.com/en_US/consumer/vis... It's like a soaking solution and cleaner in one. It's seriously the best product I've used, and you can find it at Walmart and places like that.
maybe some eye drops
I KNOW WHAT U MEAN... I SOLVE MY PROBLEM WITH OPTI CARE SOLUTION WITH MOISTURE LOCK... IT ALSO REMOVES PROTEIN TRY IT ... A LIL FYI.. BUY THE BRAND PRODUCTS CUZ THE GENERIC DON'T WORK AT LEAST FOR ME... ANOTHER THING REMEMBER WHEN THEY WERE RECALLING CONTACT SOLUTIONS... WHAT THEY DID WAS SELL IT TO WALMART, KMART AND TARGET AND NOW THEY SELL IT AS GENERIC SO WATCH OUT..... THIS IS WHAT MY EYE DOCTOR TOLD ME...
Try to switch your contacts to something like Acuve Hydraclear. That's what I have.
