Is it ok to go to sleep with your contact in your eye.?!

Question: Only if you have the special kind that your eye doctor prescribed to you. I have done this for like a month or more and ended up getting a cornea infection. I had to go to the ER and they had to take them out of my eye. The doctor said my eyes were getting deprived of the oxygen that regenerates them. It has happened to me a few times, but whenever it gets hard to open my eyes I know the infection is on its way and I take them out and would wear my glasses for a few days. Now my glasses are broken so I take them out every night because without my contacts I will be BLIND. Your eyes are not my eyes, but I have had contacts for over ten years and have experience with them.

NO! Stop being lazy and take it out.

i wouldnt...

my mom keeps them in alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll... the time. It depends on which one they are.

no, it's not! it can cause damage to your eye, your eye sight is so important!

Nope. You could get an infection from it and your eye will swell or become red.

yeah, it will just dry them out, also it depends what brand your using, it makes a difference.

HAH, i've had friends who leave them in for weeks, just eyedrop em up.

NO not unless you have ones that are day and night.. but they still recommend taking them out at night. It can cause eye ulcers and infections. If you're too lazy to take them out at night they have disposable ones that you use new ones everyday.

No you shouldnt, I heard that the contact lense will go behind your eyes and its risky to get it out

Apparently it is... But I do everynight. I leave in my contacts for about a month (until I have to switch once a month). This is probably really really bad for me. But it seems that my eye is very healthy. I don`t recommend it. My friends tried to do what I do, and they wake up with horribly dry eyes. Some people can handle it better than others. Give yourself a "test" night. And see how you feel. Me and my sister are okay, but that doesn`t mean it`s okay for you to do it.

Absolutely no! It actually can damage your eyes. Your eyes need rest at night.

no. totally not ok...we have an incident here that she actually get blind because she sleep with her contacts....its because the contact lens gets into deep in her eyes, coz maybe she accidentally scratch her eyes...

It is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE to wear your contacts at night. Even if it doesn't seem to bother you, it is doing damage to your cornea and any number of other BAD things that can happen. Wearing contacts deprives your eyes of oxygen and night time is the best time to let your eyes recover. So try taking your contacts out several hours before you go to sleep. That is the best thing you can do for your eyes.

I don't wear them , but my friend take them out at nite..............................

I try not to do it twice in a row but on the weekends I usually end up doing it once. But its out of laziness. And its not worth it if you end up getting some condition or infection. Honesty when I was younger I remember wearing the contacts for several days at a time but my eyes weren't feeling healthy.

No. Increases chance for eye infections.
