Whiter eyes with o2 optix contacts... fact or myth?!

Question: i switched from 1day Acuvue to O2 optix recently as i find that daily lenses cost more. i was informed that optix can be safely worn for long hours. anyway in my case i usually wear for 14 hours/day.
however,i was shocked that i had bloodshot red eyes after wearing optix for about 10 hrs on Day 1. besides redness,i was actually confortable with the lenses, didn't feel any pain or dryness, apart from getting unusually tired eyes (not possibly because of wrong powers as they're the same as for my previous contacts). i removed my lenses and gave them a thorough cleaning.
Day 2, i tried again to see if there's any difference.although my eyes didn't turn as red,i saw a few red lines appearing half an hr later. thereafter,i quickly removed the lenses & now i'm thinking of changing.
i wonder why is that so,the redness is scary as if my eyes were o2-deprived when in fact, it ought to be otherwise? anyone with similar experiences?
thanks!

O2 optix is made from a material called silicon hydrogel. It does provide more oxygen flow but it might not be suitable for everyone. Ur eyes might not be suitable for it. maybe u can try purevision, proclear or nite and day. I too have the same problem as u but switching over to nite and day the problem was solved
