Eyesight question?!

Question: When your eyesight gets worse from looking at a screen, for example television. Does it worsen because you are focusing on the screen for a very long time without taking a break or is it because of radiation?

Thanks

Your eyes are NOT a muscle. This is an all too common misconception. The lens in your eye is pulled by muscles, but that is only to "zoom in". Your actual eyesight is decided by the shape of your eye. It is not affected by watching television. Refractive errors are caused by eyes that are too long or too short, or by corneas that are too steep of too flat. It's as simple as that.

It is because you are focusing on the screen for such a long time. Your eyes are a muscle, and just like any other muscle they can become fatigued. Your eyes are not designed to look at things close for long periods of times, and by doing so you cause undue strain to them. By focusing on something far away every few minutes, you give your eyes time to rest and recover.

Forget about radiation , is the time that you expend focusing on the television just look around and go back and you will be able to feel ok, also you should see and eye doctor once a year.
