Question: Ok, I bought glasses at Lens Crafters and they are Dolce and Gabana, but on the inside of the frame they say "made in China"...I paid a bundle of money for these and want to know if they are indeed REAL Dolce and Gabana or fakes, because they say "made in China" so im a little suspicious on whether they ripped me off or I did make a legit purchase???

You made a legit purchase. D & G designed the frames, but they were produced in China. Cheap labor, you know.

It's LENSCRAFTERS... yes they are real. Don't worry. I have a pair. And there very cute!

You made a legitimate purchase of a D&G product.

There is no absolute guarantee unless you visited D&G's factory and them purchased them the onsite factory retail shop. Take comfort in the fact that you bought them from a reputable retailer. It is unlikely that Lens Crafters (or Sears Optical, Eye Masters, DOC, Pearle Vision, etc.) would get ripped off and then knowingly pass it along to their customers. They've got a reputation to maintain. They'd like your repeat business too. If you're really suspicious, Lens Crafters has a 30-day exchange policy. You'd want to get a different brand at that point.

One way to assure yourself of buying a quality, name-brand products is to buy from reputable retailers (like toothpaste from CVS/Rite Aid/Target/K-Mart/Wal-Mart/Walgreens instead of the corner store or Dollar General). Your price should be about what you'd expect to pay for the product. For example, some run down, small, corner lot car dealer is offering a 2008 BMW for a ridiculous price of $10,000. Most people keep on walking to a big lot dealer in the suburbs.

There are many things that China manufactures for US consumption. We cannot stop it. Americans like their goods cheaply priced. In addition, USA cannot be self-sufficient. We don't have the resources.

Exactly...

The frames are made in China and Dolce and Gabbana slap their name on them. You're paying for the name, regardless of where they were made. I would have thought they would have been made in Italy. Georgio Armani frames are made in Italy; or at least they used to be made in Italy. I don't know if they still are. But 98% of the frames are made in China, just like everything else. Cheap labor, high profit margin.
