What happens when there is too much carbon dioxide in you blood? What will your !

Question: if you have to much carbon dioxide in your blood it could become poison.

Answers: if you have to much carbon dioxide in your blood it could become poison.

Carbon dioxide dissolves in water, forming carbonic acid and lowering blood pH level. Increase in Carbon Dioxide level in the blood is detected by chemoreceptors in the body.

Chemoreceptors are located in the medulla oblongata, carotid and aortic bodies. Chemoreceptors send impulses to the inspiration centre , which in turn, send nerve impulses to the external intercostal muscle and diaphragm, making them contract more rapidly. Contraction of the external intercostal muscle and diaphragm increases the thoracic volume, lowers the pulmonary pressure and subsequently, air flows into the lungs down its pressure gradient. This increases the rate at which Carbon dioxide is removed from the blood.

Note : The medulla oblongata contains a respiratory centre which is divided into the Inspiration centre, which controls breathing in, and Expiration centre, which controls breathing out.

you get carbon dioxide out of your blood by exhaling. so if you have too much, then stop holding your breath and just breathe. :) if you don't then you will pass out.
