It hurts when I turn my eyes?!

Question: My eyes have recently, as in the last few days, gotten increasingly painful when I look around with them. Its like everytime I turn my eyes to look to the either side, up, or down, I get this really bad pain like something is restricting them from moving too much. Its only comfortable if I turn my head and try to keep my eyes from looking around. I am not having any problems with my vision and my eyes are not red or anything. Does anyone have an idea as to what this may be and what it is caused by?

I had the exactly same experience five years ago. I had pain in my eyes but absolutely no trouble with my vision.....initially, that is. I strongly suggest you get to an ophthalmologist immediately. It could be optic neuritis which is the inflammation of the optic nerve. I hope I am wrong. Don't waste time. Pick up the phone and make an appointment.

I agree, it sounds like optic neuritis, which is a very serious problem. Best go to the emergency room and get it checked out. Good Luck
