Is my contact (in my eye) inside out?!

Question: I just put it in 20 minutes ago and i am blinking a lot with that one right eye. The other eye, i can't tell that the contact is there. I can see perfectly. It is a little irritating but it is tolerable. My eyes feel kind of dry, especially the one in question. I can't really tell if it is inside out or not. today is only my second day ever wearing contacts. Am I in danger of hurting my eye? I will only be wearing them for 4 hours. Can a person typically see normally when a contact is inside out? (Because I can). Thank you 10 points

It might have dust or something on it. Try taking it out and rinsing/rubbing it with saline solution.

Usually you can tell right away if your contact is "inside out." It'll feel weird. Try putting it in the other way; maybe it is inside out.

If both of those don't help, it could be just the kind of contact you have and your eye's not tolerating it. Ask your optometrist what's going on and maybe she can get you a different kind. You shouldn't be able to feel your contacts; you should forget they're even in there =P

Good luck =]

a contact lens can not be inserted inside out, as the base curve of your eye and the lens must match to be inserted. You Probualy have dust on it take the lens out, and clean it and try again. Good Luck

Are you wearing soft contacts (disposables)? If you are it may be in inside out. You will not damage your eye but it can be annoying, you can see with it inside out as well. Take your contact out and clean it and put it back in. If it is still bothering you then turn it over and clean in and try again.

Take the lens out and wet it thouroughly then do the taco test to determine which side goes against the cornea before inserting.

Are you wearing soft lenses?

I wear Bausch and Lomb Purevision Multifocal lenses. When I put one in inside out, it moved up into the top of my eye, and I had to slide it back down to get it out. I could not see out of the eye because the contact was not in place. Sometimes I have lint in my eye after putting a contact in, so I avoid drying my hands at all before putting contacts in.

With any soft lens, hold it on the tip of a finger, and use two fingers to bend/fold it inward. If it is correct, the sides should curl inward. If it is inside out, the sides will flare outward. The inside-out flare is usually obvious while you hold it on the tip of a finger. I rinse the contact again after doing that.

Many contacts have a printed letter or number to view to see if it is inside out; you have to do a web search to find what the letter/number should be, and it is hard to find an example! But the print is so small, I need a magnifying glass to read it, and I do not read it. I just use the curving test.

take them out and clean them, contacts at first can be a pain, but keep them moist, take it out clean it and turn it inside out and try and see if that makes a difference, maybe you have a small tear in it get another pair and try them
