What do I have to do to be an eye-specialist?!

Question: I am 14 and I am really interested in being an eye-specilest but I can't find anything about how to be one on the internet or in the library. I was wondering if anyone knew what I needed to do(i.e. how many years of colege, do I need letters of recomendation, and whatever else. thanks

As with any physician you'll need the following:
4 year bachelors degreee -BS science (pre-med)
4 years Doctorate in Medicine (MD)
2 Year General Residency
Specialty studies
2-4 year's Opthalmic practice/surgical or fellowship/residency

See think below

There are two types of eye doctors in America. There are optometrists and ophthalmologists. The latter is an MD who specializes in diseases and surgery of the eye and eyelids. The training for each type of eye doctor is different.

here are some sites for you to check out:

These should help a bit. :) (if you are wanting to become an Optimetrist)

i asked my optometrist this and seh said you graduate when you're 30.
