How to read an eye glass prescription?!
Question: The values in the prescription are -100 and -100 for both OD &OS. This is given under spherical.
I am confused because I have seen only prescriptions with -1, -2 etc. Is this something special in USA? or how can i convert this in to +/- 1 /2 form?

Optical prescriptions are made in .25 increments you are just missing the decimal point. It should read
OD -1.00
OS -1.00
First, put on your reading glasses...
ask your doctor
You are lucky . . . My vision is 20/300 without corrected lenses . . .
Maybe this means your vision is actually fairly good? I have no idea, really. My prescrip. says -.025 and +1.25.... So yours seems abnormally high.
the 100=1 for sum reason ppl do it like that
-100 is the same as -1
In reality is is "-1.00 diopters of sphere"
