Someone teach me about contact lenes?!
Question: I am going to get new glasses AND try out contacts . I can't see far away .
I would probaly wear them AT THE MOST ; 5 days a week only for aprox. 9 or 10 hours a day . and never at night of corse, is this too much?
I just was wondering about them in general, i mean i am sure when i go to acually buy them they will tell me but i wanted other advice.

Contacts are good for some people not for everybody, go see your Dr. he will give you a pair of trial lenses maybe a second pair till he finds the perfect brand for you , You can use them longer than 8 hours a day an also 7 days a week , I think it will be best not to sleep with the lenses, and I strongly recommend a pair of glasses .
I also can't see far away. I wear contacts 6 to 7 days a week for 10 to 12 hours a day. I do not sleep in them, I don't believe that is healthy.. although they say it is fine. I have been wearing them for 10 years and haven't had any problems. I recently switched to focus dailies.. I throw them away at the end of every day... love those.
Contact lens have come a LONG way from when you could only wear them for so many hours per day.
I wore Glasses for 25+ years and then switched to contacts. The ones I used were called 'extended wear'. I put them in on the 1st of the month and took them out again on 15th, cleaned them and put them back in and then on the 1st of the following month replaced them with another set. I kept them in all the time, even when I slept. It was a wonderful revelation for me to wake up in the middle of the night and be able to see instantly instead of scrambling for my glasses.
I highly suggest you get contacts over glasses if at all possible.

I can't see near or far. I wear my contacts everyday, at least if my allergies aren't bad. If you have pets watch out for hair or your eyes will get irritated. They will teach you how toy put them on, when I got mine she spent about 45 min with me. I always eye drops in first then put them in, then eye drops again. This keeps irritation down and helps them stick. Good Luck.
ive had contacts for 14 years. i love them and hate to go wear my glasses. i see so much better in them. i am nearsighted and have astigmatism that comes and goes.
i wear mine 24/7. i may take them out one a month, if that. i used to wear the ones that were good for a year and had to take them out more frequently, but i have monthlys now and actually can comfortably wear them for 2 months.
i would recommend contacts to anyone.
This type of wearing timing user will be much mroe suitable for silicon hydrogel range.
