Why did my contacts shrink?!

Question: I went to bed with my contacts in because I was out of solution. When I woke up my eyes were dry so I put eye drops in them and my contact came out. So I tried to put it back in but it wouldn't go. Long story short. I put the contact in the container without solution, covered it and it shrank. Does this usually happen? And if it does will it go back to it's normal size. I'm new to contacts so I don't really know the facts.

they dried out and shriveled up from lack of moisture. put them back in the case full of solution and the contact will absorb the solution and "unshrink". this has happened to me before, they should be the same size.

u have to keep them wet. they shrunk bcuz they were dry. try not to sleep in them. i scratched the cornea of my eye by sleeping with my contacts in. make sure that u clean them and keep them in CONTACT SOLUTION.. NOT WATER!!! good luck

ps they will not go back to "normal size". throw them away and get new ones.

for your eyes only just in

Contacts will shrink if they aren't in your eye or in solution. The lack of moisture is what causes them to shrink. It will not completely go back to normal size, even if you put it in some solution. Your best bet is to throw those away, and start over with a new pair.
