Im going to get eye contacts and...?!
Question: I have never had contacts before, and some time in July after my bday Im going to get them! So does anyone have anything that I should look out for or consider, or will my eye doctor tell me most of what I need to know? I think my eyes are sensitive, and I dont really like anything that has to do with eyes. But with contacts I will try to deal with it.

Your doctor will be able to offer you plenty of help with your new contacts. He will give you the routine eye exam, then measure your pupils to see what size contacts you will need. It's all very simple and painless. After that, he will get out some trial pairs of contacts, help you decide which ones will work well for you, and he'll train you on proper care of contacts, and how to insert and remove them from your eyes. He will let you take the trial contacts home to wear for 2 weeks, to see how you do with them. After that, you can either decide to order contacts like the ones he gave you, or if they are giving you problems, he can recommend another brand to try, and send you home with another trial pair.
Contacts are great once you get used to them. Just be patient with yourself; none of us learned how to use contacts overnight. It will take some time before you feel totally comfortable inserting and removing your contacts.
Practice trying to put them in and touch the white part of your eye. Contacts don't hurt, they feel like there's an eye lash in your eye.
