Why are my eyes so dry when I use contacts? How can I remedy this situation?!

Question: I use rewetting drops, but my eyes get so dry I can't really focus, even up close. I used different kinds of contacts - dailies, b&l pureVision, etc. Nothing seems to work...

A wonderful place to visit: http://www.dryeyezone.com/ . Chockful of info and they also have forums.

I don't know, mine get pretty ridiculously dry too. I use rewetting drops that come in a greenish bottle. It helps me to put drops in my eyes BEFORE I put my contacts in and then after too. It also prob helps to keep them really clean, like change the solution every night and clean your case.

Better go back to the eye doctor. dry eyes and contacts do not mix well.

Can try proclear. maybe it will work

Maybe you should try a different contact solution. I found that mine would dry out during the day, and I was using eyedrops very often. I changed to the Opti Free RepleniSH solution, which helps hold moisture on the contacts. It has helped me a lot; I don't have to use eyedrops near as often now. I also like the Aquify solution, which helps hold in moisture.

If none of those things work for you, maybe go back and see your eye doctor again, and see if there is anything else he can recommend. I have heard a lot of good things about the Acuvue Oasys contacts; many people that get dry eyes wearing contacts say that kind has really helped them.
