I have been wearing contacts for years and have never really had any terrible problems. My eyes are so bad that I HAVE to wear either glasses or contacts in order to see anything. It ususally takes a little time to try and learn how to put them in...especially if you have an issue with being able to touch your eyes. I have become a pro at this and can ususally put my contacts in within a few seconds. My advice to you if you are wanting to do this is when the dr tells you to take them out every night...do so. I have had many friends who don't want to bother taking them out and will get scratches on their eyes and this seems to be very uncomfortable. Good Luck!

If your glasses aren't the right prescription you should get that fixed or it'll give you headaches. If you don't need glasses all the time you shouldn't need contacts. However, if your vision is bad ALL the time, you need to go back to the eye doctor and be retested.

As far as contacts go, as long as they're fitted correctly, you keep them clean, and don't wear them if they're torn or old, they're fine. Your eye doctor will give you an eye exam and use machines to see what size and prescription of contact you need.

I wear them sometimes, but my eyes are extremely sensitive, and so I only wear them for 6-8 hours at a time at the most.

well, you should ask your eye doctor if he/she thinks contacts are right for you....but to answer your question....contacts feel a little weird the very first time you put them in, but after that you dont really feel them at all...if you wear them for long hours at a time, they might get a little dry, but mine don't really get bad, and you could always use eyedrops...they may be a little bit of a hassle, but i think it's worth it...good luck!!

Contacts are great. Once you get used to them, you will hardly know they are there; they are really comfortable. If you experience dryness while wearing them, you can get eyedrops that are made to use while wearing your contacts, and they will help add some extra moisture to your eyes.

Your eye doctor will give you a 2 week trial period in which he will let you take a pair of contacts home to wear, to see how you do with them. He will also train you on proper insertion/removal of the contacts, and how to properly care for them. After your 2 week trial, you'll be able to get a prescription if you and the eye doctor both feel the contacts work well for you, and you can order them from anywhere you want.

It will take some time before you get really good at inserting and removing them. Just be patient with yourself; none of us learned how to do it overnight.

Be sure to take good care of them...clean and store them as instructed, wear them for only as long as your doctor says, and change to a new pair as instructed.
