Can anyone else not wear contacts because you see double?!

Question: I literally went through 6 or 7 brands of contacts. I even tried hard contacts and no matter what i see double. Whenever i am in a dark room everything has halos around it. My eye doc said its cuz i have a large pupil or something like that and the contact slips out of the vision circle and thats why everything is fuzzy. This is so annoying. Anybody have any ideas? I can't have lasik cuz my prescription is too high so im not a candidate. I was thinking of having an invasive ocular lens like for people with cataracts....

from the complaints, it sounds like you have a corneal disease called keratoconus.
Its an irregularity in the cornea.
I work with a doctor that specializes in fitting those cases here in Illinois. The contact lenses that are most successful with fitting these type of patients are, "synergeyes", and "rose k gas permeables"... call around to different doctors that are familiar with fitting these types of contacts. And next time you go to your eye doctor, request a topography. (its a picture of the surface of your corneas)
check out these websites, and hopefully they can give you more answers.

GOOD LUCK! =)

EDIT: I am not sure how your vision is with glasses, but most patients with Keratoconus cannot see well out of their glasses and therefore NEED contacts in order to get the best corrected vision

youre screwed

well definetly dont get lasik or there is a good chance that the double vision could be permanant... thats whats so unfortunate about large pupils... ive got them too, its annoying at night esspecially,

your best bet is to just stick with glasses for now, is there a specific reason you NEED contacts?

if you need them for sports hopefully you'll be outside and your pupils are small enough due to the light that you wont get the double...

I know there are corneal rings you might be able to get but thats expensive but thankfully reversable

good luck with whatever you choose :)!
