What contact solution is best to keep your eyes from looking red/bloodshot?!

avoid using ReNu at all costs... its an "old technology"... you want the new stuff.
Try Complete, Opti Free, or if your eyes are really sensitive, use Clear Care.. its a hydrogen based solution, and gets rid of everything. =)
and avoid using anything that says "gets the red out"! After a while, it keeps your eyes red!

I've found that solutions without preservatives are far superior to any others - it could be that the preservatives in your current lens solution could be reacting with your eyes, so if i were you i'd try opti-free out. I swear by it for comfortable eyes!
If your eyes continue to look red even after the change of solution, you ought to look to your contact lenses for the problem - remember, lenses don't have to feel awful for there to be a problem. I found that my old lenses did not allow much oxygen to my eyes, and therefore my eyes were often bloodshot.. Now, with a lens with a higher oxygen transmission, my eyes are far whiter and i don't get any problems. If your lenses have a low oxygen transmission, that could be the source of the redness. You could always ask your optician to trial a 'newer' lens (if the one you're currently with does indeed have a low oxy. transmission) which will allow more oxygen to your eyes. That should fix the problem if the change of solution doesn't.

It's likely not your contact lens solutions. Eyes get red when they are irritated. They are reacting to your contacts and there could be different reasons. Are your contacts clean/new? Breathable? Corneas need oxygen. Are you wearing them too long? Excessive wear can cause corneal neovascularization (new blood vessel growth on the cornea, making eyes look red). Eyes dry? Symptoms of dry eyes can include redness (or even watering).
Try this:
No contacts for a week (your eyes are begging you for a rest!)
During this time, use artificial tears three to four times a day whether you feel you need it or not. (If your eyes feel dry, or look red, you've waited too long.)
Begin using clean/new contacts again, & keep up the artifical tears treatment (make sure to use the kind meant to go in with a contact lens).
Make sure you don't overwear your contacts: 10 hours a day is the maximum average our drs recommend.
** Definitely no drops that promise "to get rid of the red".
