Cross eye question!?!

Question: Ok so my best friend is suffering with this and I thought I would do her a favor and ask for advice. Due to a high fever, my friend Jessica's left eye started not being straight when she would look to the right. This happened when she was only 3 years old. At 4, she had an eye surgery which didn't really help at all. I don't know why it didn't work though, because I've heard it's easy to correct that. This happened in a different country, so maybe the doctors weren't experienced or something lol. Anyway, she's 19 now, and her eyes are normal. No one can even tell that her left eye crosses, because she never turns her eyes to the right. Difficult, huh? So when she looks straight and to the left. her eyes are perfectly normal. It's just when she looks to the right, that her left eye changes. What can she do about this? I really want to help her!!! Any advice is appreciated.

From experience with a daughter.
There are tiny muscles on each side of the eyeball. When one side becomes weaker than the other, the eyeball is pulled by the stronger muscle.
Surgery involves a minute amount of cutting the stronger muscle until both are pulling equally.
Sometimes it takes a second surgery to get it right.

Unfortunately, there are failures.

The only suggestion is consultation with an eye specialist in this field. Hopefully, the muscles involved can still be repaired.
