Answers: do they hurt and i want from personal experience and wats the best brand that isnt painful or dangerous

No, they dont- they are awesomee! I use acuve advance with hydroclear & i love them!

Contacts don't hurt

Trust me they saved my life

any contact that isn't prescribed is dangerous and can cause permanent blindness but there is no good contact that isnt prescribed you should get them from your eye doctor they're safest

Every brand that I have tried have ended up being really itchy after a few hours. They don't hurt but can take quite a while to put in if you are not used to them. I don't wear them though because the itchiness is so annoying.

I have contacts and they don't hurt at all. I have acuve contacts. The only time contacts hurt is if u sleep w/ them in. ur eyes get swollen, and you could get an infection. as long as you are careful contacts are great!

contact lenses dont hurt....and they are not dangerous. It's just kinda difficult trying to put them in the first couple of days but with some practice you'll be just fine. i practically wear my contacts everyday for like 8 hours...make sure you wash ur hands and your nails are short so you don't scratch ur eyes or something. good brands are acuvue and ciba

they do take some time (about a week) 4 u to get used to them. but the optician instructs you on how to put them in your eyes. they dont let you leave the opticians until they are happy wit you putting in your contacts by yourself! they dont hurt, they poke your eyes a little bit but if they poke too much you havent got them in properly. every brand is safe and every brand is quite painless. dont worry love, you'll get used to them. it feels like you havent got them in after you have been putting them in 4 about a week or so. good luck! xxx

I use 'Focus Dailies' they're one day contact lenses. I've been using them for about 3 years now and I find them really comfortable, sometimes i even forget that they're there. But they stay hydrated throughout the day. I've never had any pain or problems with them. Ask about them next time you visit your optometrist.

Acuvue is one of the leading contact lens brands. There are different contacts, some are soft contacts and some are hard.

Acuvue is a leading brand because consumers like the soft almost invisible quality of the contacts. I've used Acuvue for years, and it was among the first brands provided by a doctor. I've tried the hard ones and the soft ones. Acuvue seems to make the softest around.

They do not hurt, but you'll have to train yourself to be able to get the contact out of your eye. The contacts can be so thin, that you might not even realize you don't have it in your eye--and rub around for it. You have to stare in the mirror and train yourself to look around the iris for the very slight etching of a line circling it. If you talk to someone and look them straight in the eye--you can often tell if they are wearing contacts because of the 'circle'.

You'll get used to the idea of seeing your finger come at your eye, and fishing for a contact. There are times, too, when you've already taken a contact out of your eye or it's lost, so you can check in the mirror for the circle before you fish. Something that worked for me before I got the hang of it, is to pull your lower eyelid down with one hand, and with the other -right hand, if you're a righ handed person, put the contact in. Some people can put a contact in with one hand, working the fingers - one holding up the upper eyelid, and the other popping in the contact. To fish out a contact, you can also, fiddle around with your upper eyelid to make it slip--pinch it or otherwise rub it off track.

Some contacts you can sleep in, and wear long term before changing. Some are disposables you wear for a short time and just toss for next set. You could potentially lose it during sleep if you rub your eyes or toss around, or sleep on your stomach.

I've never heard of a dangerous contact. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting a contact other than through the normal procedures--doctor's prescrip. after an exam.

Acuvue is also great in that they come in a range of different colors and color 'blends'. They're also very inexpensive, costing around $20 for 3 pairs. Most pharmacies have them. Wal-Mart is leading retailer of them. You can walk in get your eye exam and 2 boxes of contacts for about $50, and they keep your eye exam in the computer, so you can go to a different Wal-Mart if needed, and have them send over the info that store. I've not used the online 1-800-contacts, but they seem to also be a reasonable source. I recall checking them out a couple of years ago. I recall them accepting faxed prescrips from doctors. Most eye exam providers have no problem faxing over your eye exam or letting you pick up same to take to another provider.

I've used Acuvue, Acuvue 2, Acuvue advanced.
I didn't like the Acuvue advanced. They were not as comfortable as Acuvue 2, which I found I liked best. For colored contacts, I've comfortably worn Acuvue 2 Colors. I've worn daily, extended (which i didn't find that comfortable compared to daily contacts--which you take in and out every day. i felt like i could 'feel' the contact in my eyes, and that they were harder than norm against my eyes), and the cosmetic prescrip ones.

The doctor will give you demos on how to insert, clean, and care for your contacts before you leave the premises, etc. They normally will have you practice inserting the contacts before leaving if you're new to contacts, so they can help you figure out what method works best for you, and show you how to properly do things.

You can subscribe to the FDA's contact lens alert for consumers.

I just got contacts like two days ago and I love them!!! they are so much better than wearing glasses and was scared at first about touching my eyes it kinda grossed me out but you just get used to that... and no they dont hurt at all you barley even know they are in most of the time! dont worry i was kinda reluctant at first too u should get an extra pair of glasses in case anyway good luck!
