Your eyes adjusting to the dark - its the optical nerve - nothing unusual - a bit like seeing stars or colours when you first close your eyes.
Do you wear contacts ? could be from that, or certain medications...
Its your mind. Look at your computer for 30 seconds, concentrate on it. Then close your eyes. You will see a light the shape of your screen. Check this out below.
Is it there constantly? This can indicate a tear in your retina.
If it is only short lived, then it is probably just the mechanical stimulation of your retina as you force your lids down. If you close your eyes tightly, and then move your eyeballs from left to right, you can see some lights also. This is what I think is happening to you.
