Contacts for eyes that are very very un-contact-friendly?!

Question: I've tried to switch from glasses to contacts twice before, and each time was the same--it started out fine, then my eyes slowly got more and more irritated by the contacts and within a few months of starting them, I couldn't wear them for even a few minutes because they bugged my eyes so much.

I've considered trying those 1-a-day contacts, but I'm not sure how well they'd work either. Last time, when I'd throw away one pair of contacts and bring out a new one, the new ones didn't work much better.

Any suggestions for contacts that might actually work for me? I've also thought about Lasik, but it's not really in my budget at the moment. So this is the only way for me to get out of wearing glasses. Thanks!!

Have you talked to your eye care provider? They should be fitting you with different types of contacts to see which ones work the best for you. I cannot wear my contacts for more then ten hours at a time and I have tried tons of different brands and types. Try Accuvue (sp?) Hydroclear...One pair lasts two weeks, but take them out at night and throw them away and start a new pair every two weeks.

Lasik is one alternative I would benver consider. True, they work about 98% of the times, but there are many horror stories with the remaining 2%. The botch ups are irrevesible, and you are left with limited vision, whereas before, you had good vision with glasses or contacts.

make an appt. there a lot of new contacts now for ppl
with dry eyes and other problems who could not wear them in the past.
tell the eye dr your problems in the past and ask if you could try a pair before you buy them, most will let you try first

they're very helpful but you will have to pay in Swedish Kronor.......get used to it, SWEDEN WILL RULE Z WORLD
