What side effects do color contacts have?!

Question: I'm 14 and i want color contacts... but not if the side effects are steep.

Answers: I'm 14 and i want color contacts... but not if the side effects are steep.

No, contacts are NOT better for your eyes than glasses. I've never had a patient get an eye infection from their specs.

Anyway...

There are technically no side effects from colored contacts. That being said, there are certain draw backs to wearing them; for instance, the potential for eye infection always exists whenever a person wears contacts, clear or colored.

Colored contacts can actually impede your vision. The lenses are designed to move slightly, and with clear contacts this is not a problem because the lenses are clear. With colored contacts however, when the lens moves, it will obstruct your vision slightly because they are colored and there is a cut-out for the pupil. When that lens moves off center, it will cloud your vision...not to mention, the fact that it will allow a portion of your natural eye color to become visable.

Also, because of the pupil cut out, your pupil will never expand and contract so no matter what lighting conditions you are in, your pupils will appear the same. Actually, your pupil will still expand and contract, but to others it will remain the same, which gives you what I like to call the "dead fish" look. Not very natural, in my professional opinion.

it has no side effects
lol yeah..........

Contacts are better for your eyes than glasses are.
There are no side effects to contacts at all.

They are just as safe as any other contacts, provided you take proper care of them (cleaning and storing correctly, changing to a new pair as directed, etc). As long as you are ready for that responsibility, they will be just fine for you to wear.
