What is your vision like after you have your eyes dilated?!

Question: will my son have trouble seeing for a while afterwards? I have never had it done nor has he so I don't know what to expect. He is supposed to go back to school for speech that afternoon but maybe I should cancel. (I need to let the speech therapist know ahead of time if possible)

It is hard to read, so if he will have to read off something, you may be better off canceling.
Sometimes it will bother for a couple hours and sometimes for a couple days.

I heard it's supposed to be kind of blurry

Oh yes, he will see blurry for awhile....it takes time to wear off. It makes you feel unsure, and kinda uncomfortable not to be able to see right all of the sudden.

He'll be able to see, but it's gonna suck! Everything is very blurry and bright lights will hurt. Probably for about 4 hours.

He wont see any different but his eyes will be sensitive to light. When you get your pupils dilated you cannot stare into light or at wear sunglasses because it could damage your eyesight! If your son is going to be exposed to a lot of light you should consider cancelling the speech.

his vision may be a bit blurred and he'll also be very sensitive to light. bring some sunglasses for him to wear afterward. let the school know he's been dialated and let him go back after his appt. if he can't see well enough to read his speech, the teacher will give him another chance. if they offer him rev drops, don't bother. they are supposed to help the pupils return to normal faster but they don't work and they burn.

it's really not too bad. i just had mine done a week ago. they will put some drops in and give them about 15 minutes to take effect. physical-=--his pupils will be just fine. if it's daytime, have some sunglasses for him as everything will seem a little bright. he will have some trouble focusing on things up close for several hrs. i literally had to hold my hand 2 inches from my face to notice the blurriness. it really wasn't bad at all.

vision is usually fine, but because they are dilated, you need to protect from light so be sure to provide him with sun glasses.

Yeah get him some sun glass's I hated it when it was done to me, I couldn't see anything, it was way to bright.
He'll love you for it.
