What brands you are able to wear will depend on what your pupil measurements are. Your eye doctor will do the measuring when you go for the exam. After that, you can just browse online at places like 1800contacts.com, and just check out all the colored contacts, to see which brands offer your particular pupil size. Not all brands offer all the different sizes of pupils. I can only wear a couple different brands of colored contacts, because I have larger pupils (8.6/14.5), and there aren't but a couple brands that offer that size. I wear the Freshlook colored contacts, and I really like them.

Your eye doctor will let you try out as many colors as you like, so take advantage of that! It will help you get a good idea of what colors you do and don't like before you start ordering contacts by the box.

Just to get you started...here's a link to all the different kinds of colored contacts that 1800contacts.com has.

Ciba has some very natural looking colors for those of us with dark eyes.

they are the freshlook color blends. I have a blue pair and a green pair and they don't look weird or fake. stick to the regular blue and green 'cause they also have some different color variations that look pretty but they look strange once you put them in your eye.

I know you can get Acuvue, which is Johnson and Johnson brand in different colors. I've tried Green myself with decent results.
