Contacts??!

Question: I'm getting them in a month and I'm worried about putting them in and out...is it difficult? Are there any tricks to it? And also, I want colored contacts, do they give you those at the Dr.s office or do you buy them from somewhere else? Thank you.

Right now, while you are waiting in the next month, start to practice by getting your fingers near your eye, and opening your eye up with your fingers. Pretend you are working with the actual contacts.

If you can, progress by very lightly touching your eyes with your freshly washed fingers. The secret to having easeful insertions and removals with contacts is getting use to futzing with and around the eye (and in particular actually touching the eyeball/cornea), and by practicing now, before actually having contact lenses, you will be that much closer to having it be second nature when you actually do get contacts.

the trick is to relax...you'll want to blink especially at first. I think it took me half an hour to get them in the first few times, now it takes less than 5 minutes. Get your coloured contacts from the optometrist for a few reasons:
1. They are fitted perfectly to your eye shape and prescription
2. The ones you can get from chemists and accessory shops are made without a guarantee of sterility and they have been known to cause eye problems (one girl almost lost her sight) due to bacteria in the solution
3. You can get all the follow up care you need

Okay, I have colored contacts and I think they're not hard to put in at all once you get use to it. Maybe the first few times would be a bit of a hassel but its no big deal. If you're wanting to get prescribed colored contacts then just simply ask your eye doctor about them, but if you just want to buy them off the market, the places I bought mines were usually asian markets and stuff. Hope that helps! Good luck trying to put them in the first time. Or if you trust buying things online then you could order it that way.

nah i got them when i was 14, i'm 15 now
and they're life savers

the key is, is getting your own method on taking them off and on cause its different for those who have different shaped eyees
they take a while to get used to, but most of the time i even forget i have them on

congrats, contacts are like two big ol' hugs from the big man upstairs
