I just got disposable contact lenses, and wanted to know..??!

Question: if you can sleep for a couple of hours with them.. not at night, because I remove them. I mean if during the day can I take a short nap without removing them?

Taking a nap is usually no problem for most soft contacts. You might need to use some re-wetting drops upon awakening. I know my lenses and eyes (silicone hydrogel--PureVision) get a bit dry after sleeping (wether a nap or overnight), but a drop or two per eye of drops, and they are good to go again...!

It should not be a problem.

No its always best to take them out, its really bad for your eyes because it takes even more oxygen away from them, i went through all this with my optomitrist when i got them. Hope it helps.

Hi, I used to wear disposable contact lenses for ages until I got glasses again, and I sometimes used to sleep in them if I forgot my solution at home or something. I never had any problems doing this. Your eyes will feel a bit dry when you wake up but that's nothing a few eye drops won't cure!

my husband NEVER takes his out, so i am sure it won't hurt to nap in them.

I have actually slept with them all night a few times - fell asleep before removing them. I don't think it's the best thing for your eyes, but it didn't hurt me any. Eyes were a little dry and I had to put a new pair in next a.m. since I didn't clean them the night before. A short nap is okay.

Short naps are fine.I took a nap with my contacts on a plane and when i awoke they were a little bit dry.
I put in some of these eyedrops in the link below and i was fine.
Should be the same for you.

i have disposable lenses as well and sleep with them all the time whether it is a short nap or during the night. I know it's not good to do that, but really I haven't had any problems with them. Some people say they get dry eyes sleeping with contacts, but i've never experienced that problem.
