Are contacts ok for me to wear?!
Question: I have slight astigmatism, I have bad eye sight. I also have been wearing glasses for 5 almost 6 years. I have to get like a new prescription of glasses like every six months because my eyes sight gets even worse that frequently. I am 13 years old I will be 14 next month. Would it be ok for me to get contacts?
I am also going to ask my eye docter this Saturday.

i had the same problem and i do wear contacts in my opinion they are better than glasses and if you play sports they it really comes in handy cause glasses are just a bother. uh my eye sight is just like your and is continuing to get worse but it also happened when i was wearing glasses so i don't really thing contacts will make a big difference.
I think you would be fine wearing contacts. I have an astigmatism too. They make special contacts just for people with astigmatism
It would be the same as the glasses more perscriptions. I do think that glasses are better (Thats what i heard) but if you are getting irritated with them just get contacts. Also contacts are harder to use because you have to put them in slowly.

i think u can wear contacts. but i dont really like them because a friend of mi cousin developed more seriouse eye problems after she starded wearing contacts
i also suffer from astigmatism and they do make special contacts for us there about 400$ if ur insurance covers it go for it

Yes, you should be able to wear contacts. There are special contacts for people with astimatism. Your eye doctor will really be the only one who can make that decision though. If he says you will be fine with contacts, go for it. They're really comfortable once you get used to wearing them. Just be sure to take good care of them (proper cleaning and storing, changing to a new pair as directed, etc). The eye doctor will train you on all that, along with insertion and removal of the contacts. He/she will also send you home with a trial pair to wear for 2 weeks, to see how you do wearing them, if he/she does approve you for contacts.

Yes, if ur asti is less than 0.75 then is ok for u to get normal lenses. elese u got to get toric lenses.
