Contact emergency! please help me if you can!!!?!

Question: i wear contancts, and when i was taking them out, i got the one half way out, and then i put it back, or thought i did, because my eye was itchy. i went to get that contact out, and it wasnt there! im almost positive it is folded up in my eyelid.

the question is, how do i get the contact out, or for that matter, find out if it is truly there?

thanks in advance, im really worried!!

Did you look in the area where you thought you took it out at to see if it is laying around? If you don't spot it take your eye and pull the lower lid down while you look up can you see it? do the same thing with the upper lid. look to both sides also. If it is in there you will be able to see it. if it is folded in the upper lid take your finger on the outside of your lid and try to roll it down where you can get ahold of it. same in reverse with the lower. You may have scratched you eye taking it out and that is why it is itchy. If you don't find it wait a while without rubbing on your eyes. If your eye appears normal and the irritation goes away you more than likely lost the lens on the floor, down the sink or on your clothes. If it still is bothering you go see a eye care professional eye infections can be very painful...

You can lift your eyelid and look for it, it's not exactly the most comfortable thing to do, but it works.

Another thing to try is make sure your eye is plenty moist, if it's watering that's fine, or put a few drops of saline in, then close your eye and rub it gently for several seconds, since contacts are concave, they try to unfold, rubbing your eye usually helps it unfold and makes it easier to find and remove.

Flushing your eye with saline or eye wash is another option.

Jeez, I'm 13 y/o and that thing happened to me for several times, just drop some contact solution on your eye (yes, contact solution, not the lubricant) and then blink for a few times, then the lens should come out at the side of your eye.

I'm with Bobbi here--chances are that the contact is already out and lying around somewhere your bathroom. I've done this a couple of times, and after careful searching I always find it.

If it is folded up in your lid, you should be able to feel it. I know even a wrinkle in my soft contacts feels very apparent, let alone folded up...!
