I was thinking about Lasik surgery but I noticed something that really made me t!
Question: I spoke to 4 different doctors over the past couple of years about Lasik surgery and I noticed ALL OF THEM STILL WEAR GLASSES.
If Lasik is such a great procedure why do the actual doctors that perform the surgery still wear glasses? If the procedure was safe and effective like many doctors will tell you why havent they gotten it done?
When I asked those specific doctors they all said "oh Im just comfortable in glasses and never got around to it"
Im worried about the side effects and the fact the actual doctors performing the surgery seem worried too which bothers me. I dont buy the "oh i just like glasses" reponse.

Eye doctors and surgeons "need" their eyes to do their job. There are small precentages of people that come out of lasik or any corrective surgery with issues. It would be irresponsible for an eye doctor to take that chance with their career. Even if that chance is slim.
Besides...most eye surgeons would likely have a hard time trusting another surgeon.
I WORKED AT AN EYE OFFICE AND WE HAD A SEMINAR ON LASIK. A LOT OF PLACES THAT DO IT ARENT LEGIT, OR THEY AREN'T AS UP TO DATE AS THEY SHOULD BE. SOME OF THE DIFFERENT PLACES OFFER REALLY CHEAP PRICES AND PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE GETTING A GOOD DEAL, BUT IN REALITY THEY AREN'T GETTING VERY GOOD SERVICE. THERE ARE DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES THEY USE, SOME ARE SAFER THAN OTHERS. SOME OF THE COMPANIES ARE IN DEBT BECAUSE THE MACHINES COST SO MUCH AND SO THEY HAVE NO MONEY FOR UPGRADES AND THE DOCTORS DON'T MAKE MUCH FROM IT. MANY OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE COMPANIES RENT THEIR MACHINES INSTEAD OF BUYING SO THAT THEY CAN UPGRADE WHEN SOMETHING BETTER COMES OUT. BUT THE PEOPLE I MET FROM THE COMPANY HAD ALL HAD LASIK THEMSELVES.
