Will colored contact lenses hurt my eye?!

Question: I want to change the color of my eye but I'm not so sure if lenses will hurt my eyes, also if anything goes wrong will I have to wear glasses?
Is it dangerous to wear only one of the lenses? Let's say I want one brown eye and one blue eye. I really wish for that.

Let me preface this by saying I have been a Pediatrician for 15 years and a Neo-Natal surgeon for 10. I work in the NICU and am trained in Homeopathy as well as Acupressure & Acupuncture.

I have a lot of teens ask me this question in my practice. Contact lenses (color or not) do not hurt your eyes if you properly take care of them. Just make sure the color you choose for each eye matches your prescription for the lenses and you should be fine.

If something were to go wrong with your eyes due to you not taking care of your lenses or eyes, you can be forced to wear glasses the rest of your life. It is important to follow any and all instructions for each lens and make sure to always wash your hands before they touch your eye.

I hope this helps!

Wearing contacts is not something I would choose to do if I didn't have to. You should not have to wear glasses afterwards, I am guessing you would get contacts without any strength in them to see. You just need to make sure that you take them out and clean them regularly. I would suggest if you don't have to have them to see that you only wear them when you feel it is really necessary.
