What happens at an eye test? Can i wear make up?!

Question: Does it hurt?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

It is 100% painless. The only thing I find with them is that it makes your eyes watery from looking at the small letters and what they do.

Yes you can wear make up. They don't look at your face they only concentrate on your eyes.

What they do is you read an eye chart from 20 feet away sitting in a chair with one eye closed then you close the other eye. I have a lazy eye so my right eye can read more of the smaller letters than my left eye. They may take photos of your eyes too and they also tell you to stare at a pen at the light so they can see the reflection in your eyes to check for amblyopia (lazy eye) which I have. If the white reflections dots are in the same spot in each pupil ts normal but if not then you have a lazy eye.

P.S. I really like eye tests. they're fun.

I'm assuming by "eye test" you mean a routine check up with your optometrist?
For these, yes, you can wear makeup, and no, it doesn't hurt at all.
They'll do a few tests on your eyes, like place you a certain distance from the letter chart and tell you to recite the letters on the chart; they also do various tests to see how your perifrial (spelling on last word?) vision is. You'll probably get a glaucoma (agian, spelling?) test, too, in which you place your chin onto a strap and you will feel a small puff of air in each eye. It doesn't hurt, though it is odd because you're not used to having air puffed straight into your eye.
Don't be afraid, you won't feel any pain!

It depends. The doctor will most likely put some drops in your eyes to check for various diseases. One of those drops will dilate your eyes, and you will need to have someone drive you home. You should check in advance if they doctor plans to dilate your eyes.

Another test is to check your vision using the "machine" thingy they place in front of your face. Your eye make up won't interfer.

I always wear eye make up to my tests, and it hasn't been a problem. However, if you are going to wear mascara, use water proof. Your eye exam will be PAINLESS...although dilation is quite uncomfortable. Bring a pair of sunglasses if it is a day appointment and if your eyes will be dilated.

I don't see why you couldn't wear makeup.

When I went to the eye doctor a week or two ago, they had me enter a room and they focused an image untill it was clear for me. Then, they threw puffs or air in my eyes. It's surprising, but it doesn't hurt. Then I went into another room and they had me read a chart. After that, they put different lenses in front of my eyes and asked me which one was better. The doctor also looked in my eye with a light to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with it.
