Too much sleep?!

Question: i sleep way too much, um...if i go to sleep at 8:00pm and wake up at 6:20 am, i'm still very very tired and sleepy. no matter how much sleep i get, i'm still tired and dazed...

when i get back from school like around 3 pm, the first thing i do is take my nap and wake up at 7pm and wait for about two hours and then go back to sleep. wtf? i'm in taekwondo, how the heck can i have so much low energy! T_T

is this normal or not?

you really need to eat healthy, and try and avoid foods that are not good for you, like (potato chips) since I know you like to eat them all the time. also if you exercise more in afternoon for at least 1 to 2 hours doing really anything, you will be able to much more sleep, and not feel as tired. other than that you need to have blood work done, because it seems to me that you may have sleep apnea. It has been proven that exercise in the morning does not help you sleep better. you should try eating more veggies and fruits, and drink lots of water and even tea, not sweet tea. I will help you out with this if you want me to, just call me or e-mail me, umm if I go over to your house or you mine whenever I will help out with this, like advice and what to eat and what not to eat.

Visit your family doctor. You may need bloodwork to see if all is well. Some reasons for this need for sleep can be anemia, depression and thryroid conditions. Have the doc check you out.

If you regulate your sleeping habits by going to bed at 8 and waking up at 6:20 everyday that'll help. Also, try eating healthier things and exercising. They both give you a lot of energy.

first off, the answer depends on how old you are. if you are a teen (12-19) you will need at least 9 hours of sleep, with an average of 11 hours.
your body is growing, and needs a lot of sleep to keep up. im 14 and i sleep 10 and a half hours every night/day and am still always tired!
staying hydrated by drinking 8-10 glasses of water or vitamen or life water will keep you more awake and help you sleep better when you do. you may be sleeping for hours on end, but only in level 1-3 sleep, which does not give your body the energy it needs. you need to be in stages 4-5 for at least 5 hours to get the needed sleep and energy.
working out in the evening will stimulate your brain, which causes you to get more energy and your electodes to get "high wired". this will make you want to stay up. work out earlier in the day so that you sleep better. also, take a shower in the morning, baths at night. a shower will wake you up so you should do this in the morning, NOT the evening. bathes will relax you and your muscles, so if your up to it, take a bath before bed time.
one last thing- drinking soda can keep you up all day. try cutting down on the soda and drink water or tea before bed.
good luck!

Your nap-time shouldn't go past 30 min for that refreshing feeling. A nap of four hours isn't a nap its called sleeping. Most people like myself who work two jobs need a power nap to make it thru the day. Sleeping 10 hours a day is overkill. All your body needs is six hours of sleep with a 30 min nap. Good luck.

I think u didn't eat healthy food. Eat healthy food and plz goto ur doctor

these people are dumb. they dont know what they are talking about, if you ask me, you should just do what you are doing, its normal!

When you get use to sleeping you continue to get dragged down into more and more sleep.

I became a housewife a year ago and I got dragged down into the sleep all day syndrome.

You should try this energy drink, I just starting using it for school, to help me focus and stay up and it's really good.

And I'm now a energy drink taking kind of person, the best part it's all natural.

You can try it for free at
