Contact lens solution?!

Question: I bought the new Complete Easy Rub solution but i'm not very sure how to use it properly. I usually use Optifree but it was beginning to dry my eyes and my optom recommended Complete which wasnt supposed to be as harsh and it was supposed to be able to clean better as well. But thing is it requires me to do a rub & rinse regimen, which i wasnt used to (i just dunk it and soak man). Anyone knows what the rub & rinse thingy is all about? how long to rub, how to rub??? what if the lenses tear? Thanks in advance. :)

It's very simple, and doesn't take long at all. Put a few drops of solution in your hand, then set the lens down, wet it too if necessary. Then gently rub the lens with your index (pointer) finger for about ten seconds, from the center toward the outer edges, to remove any protein or debris. After you've done that side of the contact, flip it over, and repeat those steps on the other side. Then rinse that side of the contact for 5 seconds with solution, flip it over again and rinse the other side for 5 seconds with the solution. After that, just put some fresh solution in your case, and soak them as usual.

Be gentle; I've torn a few lenses from rubbing too hard. A gentle rub is plenty...if you do happen to tear a lens, trash it and get a new one out.

If you go to the Complete website, there is some good info on there that shows you the steps I've mentioned above, and a video showing you how to do each step. There's also a coupon for $2.00 off your next purchase of Complete solution.

just squirt some solution into the palm of your hand, then put your lense in there. then use one finger of your free hand and gently rub right on the contact lens. you can flip it around and rub it too if you want.
Also, if you don't get my explanation, it'd be best to ask your opthamologist to show you how to do it.

yeah its pretty easy u put the lense in the palm of ur hand and then put some solution on it then rub each side of the contact for about 5 seconds and I wouldnt worry about the contact tearing as long as your pretty gentle when ur rubbing. Then fill up the case with solution and let them sit in there overnight or at least 6-8 hours. Pretty simple

Rubbing the lenses is easy. gently rub each side of the lenses for about 20sec. hence 80 sec for both lenses. Soak it for at least 4hrs before wearing. Place the lenses on the hand and gently rub.

Everyone elses answers sound good so I just wanted to add to it. When you have the lens in your palm give a good squirt and rub (would use ur pinky) go back and forth on both sided of the lens...if you go in a circular motion this can tear the lens, also when you put the lens in the case make sure the lens is fully submerged in solution so it dosent dry out.
