I just got contacts for the first time and...?!

Question: i just got contacts for the first time and, which i have glasses my whole life before. the doctor dialated my eyes and then put contacts in for me. its the first time for me, and still even 5 hours after i am back from the doctor, i still cant see clear. things are still blurry. is this from the eye drops that caused the dialated pupils or is it the contacts?? is this normal?

btw my contact perscription is slighlty higher than my previous glasses perscription, idk if that helps any... but thanks

Remove the contacts immediately.. When u r wearing it for the first time u shd start with 15 mins on day 1 , half an hour on day 2 and then slowly doublin the duration on the followin days... 5hrs at a stretch for the first time is BAD for ur eyes and u'll most probably end up with a head ache..

Take it slowly.. and this blurrin is due to ur dilation.. just sleep for sometime.. u'll be ok.. or do palming - close ur eyes and place ur palms over it while sittin with a comfortable back rest....the inside of ur palm shd not touch ur eyes.. do this for ten mins and then place a wet cloth over ur eyes and lie down for ten mins... this is an extremely good way to refresh ur eyes ....

contact prescriptions are always higher than ur specs'... thats normal.. dont worry abt it..

now since u r wearin contacts u must make sure of the followin precautions..
1) dont wear ur contacts for more than 6 - 7 hours continously.. give a rest of atleast half hour in between .
2) In case of redness of eye or any other symptom - Do not wear ur lens..
3) if any dust particle enters ur eyes (It wud be very painful 'cuz of the contacts.) clean ur eyes with a piece of cotton.. tht'll help immediately.. Do NOT try to squeeze out the dust u'll end up dislocatin the lens..
4) always carry ur lens case filled with solution, ur glasses and cotton with u...

i'm guessing it's the eye drops because i didn't really have this problem with my contacts, but if it persists i would most definetly check with my eye doctor if i were you. it could be that your eyes are just getting used to it.

It's definitely mostly from the dilation. Another thing is that when you go from glasses to contacts in the same day it takes a while for your eyes to adapt. I've been wearing contacts for almost 16 years and it still happens to me. Keep wearing your contacts for a few more hours every day and you will get used to them and learn to love them just like I do!!!

Actually your not suppose to put contacts in after your eyes have been dialted. try takin out the contacts and close your eyes for 15 min thne open them again and throw out ur old contacts they usually last a month but the dialated fluid is not suppose to combine with contacts it really ruins the prescription your doc obviously is a rookie.

i wasnt allowed to wear contacts when my eyes were dilated i had to wait a good 5 hours for it to go away i actually went to sink and took out wat i could. hope this helps
