Tear ducts leak water, bodies are 90% water, water excreted is salty, the brain sends a message to the tear ducts when you are sad and the tear ducts clean themselves by releasing the fluids.

do you cry a lot?

when ur girlfirend of 5 years cheats on u with some black guy and you come home from a business trip to see ur girlfriend blindfolded, gettin gangbanged by 3 guys while tied to ur mothers antique dresser... that causes tears

Tears come the lacrimal gland and travel through a series of ducts called the lacrimal ducts and drain into the nasal cavity. They contain the enzyme lysozyme and this enzyme has anti-bacterial properties. The lacrimal gland is located in the eye and is considered an accessory organ of the eye.

Tears are a good thing.

They come from your tear ducts. I think they are like little glands just at the corners of your eyes. They are triggered by your emotional state as well as being triggered by pain, and are not just necessary for crying - they are also necessary for lubricating the eyes. The triggers usually come from certain hormones - hormones surge when you are sad, happy, etc etc, and just like the rest of the body, tears are a reaction to your environment and emotional state.

Starts in your brain as a signal that goes to your eye .Humans are the only animal generally accepted to cry emotional tears....

SADNESS IN YOUR LIFE!

message.

we have lacrimal glands arround our eyes. they secrete "tears" to lubricate and maintain moisture of our eyes. The also keep bacteria and viruses from invading. The tears have antibodies andsalt in them to lower risk of infection.
The glands are constantly stimulated by nerves more so when we are emotional or have pain, and even have a cold.
the tears drain down the lacrimal duct that flows into your nasopharynx (nose/throat)
