Are carrots actually good for your eye's ?!

Question: is this a myth or is it true ?!

Answers: is this a myth or is it true ?!

Well, everyone agrees that they are good for your eyes but no one has really said why. Here's the skinny on it. Carrots help only your night vision, not day time vision. Your eyes have rods and cones and the ones your eyes use for night vision are made more sensitive because of the make up of the carrot. I used to fly airplanes a lot for a corporation, at night, and I could see better because I snacked on raw carrots. I hope that helps.

It's true-with the certain vitimins in them they help you see better in the dark but only if you eat them consistantly and plus they have fibers in them taht absorbes fat in your body making you not have extra pounds

Started off as a myth during WWII but it contains vitamin A and beta carotene, good for eye sight.

must be true. i've never seen a rabit with glasses

Not sure if its true or not but were having rabbit for dinner and he didn't see what hit him.

Yes they are, because of the bata carateen is good for vission

No, not really. During WWII the British developed radar to protect against German air attacks. The defenses always knew when and where attacks were occurring and were able to stop the Germans. The British spread rumors that their pilots ate lots of carrots which gave them great vision to spot the enemy to explain hwo they always knew where the Germans were.

It sure is true that carrots are really good for your eyes, they're a great source of beta carotene and Vitamin A.

They actually don't do anything for your eyes. It was a myth made during World War II (i think) to confuse Germans as to why the Allied planes could bomb with such precision at night. The Allies promoted carrotts as helping with eye sight to confuse the Germans when it was actually radar that was helping locate their targets. Learned that from a Warplane Museum. I guess it just carried on over the years.
