Should I try contacts?!

Question: Now let me say that I am NOT trying to change for everyone else HOWEVER, I do not mind trying new things if I believe it'll be a benefit.

http://a183.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/ima... - Picture of me without glasses (I guess would probably be what it would look like with contacts.)

Does it hurt to put it in? Does it hurt to take it out? Is it true if I go to sleep without taking it out, it could go in the back of my eyes? What should I know about contacts concerning safety? Any opinions please? Thanks!

They're definitely worth a try. Much easier to wear than glasses, especially when being active (sports, etc).

Contacts don't hurt when inserting or removing them. They cannot go back behind your eyeball; if anything at all, they will only slide under your eyelid, and can be easily retrieved by closing that eye, and rubbing the eyelid in a circular motion until the contact comes back out.

As far as safety...contacts are perfectly safe to wear, as long as you care for them properly (cleaning/storing correctly, changing to a new pair as directed, etc).

Your eye doctor will be able to provide you with plenty of help, if you decide to go for another eye exam and contact fitting. It's very simple and painless...routine eye exam, then the eye doctor measures your pupils with a machine that you just look into for a minute or so. After that, the eye doctor will bring out some samples of various contact lenses for you to try out. He/she will show you how to insert/remove them, and how to clean and store them properly. The eye doctor will tell you everything you need to know, but be sure and ask any questions you might have if he/she didn't mention something that you are concerned about. After you've done all that, you will most likely be sent home with a trial pair to wear for 2 weeks, to see how you do wearing them. If you do fine with that pair, you will be able to get your prescription, and you can then order your contacts from the eye doctor's office or anywhere online that you choose (usually cheaper online). If the trial pair doesn't do so well for you, the eye doctor may want you to try another brand/type of contacts on another 2 week trial. He/she will keep doing that until you both feel like you have found the contacts that suit you best.

I think you'll really enjoy wearing contacts after you get used to them; they're super comfortable!Getting used to them can take up to 2 weeks with some people, so just be patient with yourself, and give your eyes time to adjust to the change.

Sure why not try contacts. They are really easy to wear. It does not hurt to put in or take out. No they will not go to the back of your eyes if you fall asleep with them in. My kids learned how to wear contacts in the 5th grade. You just have to wash your hands good before you handle your contacts. I think it is alot easier to see with contacts instead of always having to turn your head to look through the eye glass lenses.

You look great with contacts its much better^^and you look more friendly xDDDDDDDD
