its real easy, quick& painless. I had mine on thurs. feb.14 & i can already see the difference. I was leaglly blind. (couldnt see a damn thing without glasses or contacts.) you are awake for the whole prodedure. They will put drops in your eyes before the surgery. it will make them numb so you dont feel a thing. it was the weirdest but best experience i ever had. the recovery time is that day up to about a week. Mine is still alitte foggy (feels like i have really dirty contacts in.)
The surgery only takes about 10 min. I think its like 4 min per eye.
I highly recommend doing this!!!!

Ok, here it is in a nutshell:

They put you to sleep (or this would be VERY VERY painful), and they use a laser to basically change the shape and thickeness of your cornea.

There are 2 kinds of corrective laser surgery, one is Lasix, I forget the name of the other. One they just shave off the surface of your eye to reshape the eye so that your focus is brought more in line with the lens. With myopia (near sightedness), the eyeball is too long & focus is too far forward, so by shortening the eyeball, the focus lands on the back of the eye where it should & you should not need glasses.
The other type is similar except that they slice a flap off the front of your eye, do the reshaping deeper inside your eyeball, then put the flap back on. It is more invasive but is said to heal better as the cut area is covered up & not exposed. I knew of someone that got a "wrinkle" in it though & had to get the piece put back in place so it wouldn't heal wrong.
There is also laser eye surgery to replace corneas in older people (usually) with cataracts. I assume they just cut it open, take the old lens out & put an artificial one in.
You are awake during the procedure with eye drops to numb your eye.

Well, pretty interesting question. However, only the doctor could advice you clear. I read somewhere and it says eyes surgery is not much to worry about cos the doctor they will do it well of course.
