Answers: (Ten Points)

What is the scientific reason why eyesight gets worse and what makes eyesight get worse faster and what can I do to slow or stop my eyesight from getting worse?

The answer to that question ranges everywhere from genetics to excessive close-up work according to more mainstream optometric source other alternative eye enthusiasts believe it is even the bodies' reaction to stress and anxiety of everyday life...

in the end it is likely a mix of all three, throw in lack of excersize and a horrible western diet and you have the perfect formula for bad vision.

it may not be entirely possible to ensure your vision does not get any worse, esspecially if your a teenager but make sure you eat well, get excersize, avoid too much time on the computer and reading (if you this is not possible, take many breaks to look into the distance)

also simply relax, life is difficult and stressful just take a moment to breath and laugh a little!

Stop hanging out on the dang computer all day for starters.

The usual reason is that the lens loses elasticity and just doesn't accomodate anymore. You can't do anything.

A lot of issues start from not enough blood flow to your retinas (which attach to your eyes) and therefore cause loss of oxygen to your eyes... which, in turn, kills cells, which leads to worse eye sight.

Also, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. can cause pressure to build in the retinas and have them become restricted or detached... not good.

Good luck!

you get older and your skin falls over your eyes, and you can't see.

"What is the scientific reason why eyesight gets worse and what makes eyesight get worse faster..."

- genetics play a role in your vision and sometimes a refractive error can be caused by something as simple as an abnormally shaped eyeball being too short or too long (which is quite normal) causing the image to not be projected clearly onto the retina.
nearsighted people can prevent 'worsening faster' (to a certain extent) by relying less on their glasses for things like reading or close work.

"and what can I do to slow or stop my eyesight from getting worse?"

-when it comes to proactively taking steps to prevent the worsening of your vision, things like carrots are always good for your eyes because they contain beta carotene, some people with a deficient tear film or dry eye syndrome are usually recommended to take omega-3 fish oil pills. there also have been rumors of flax seed being beneficial.

keep in mind that everything stated above is assuming you don't have any ocular pathology or eye diseases, for those cases you'd have to consult your eyecare professional
