Best spherical lens is the Acuvue Oasys. Best toric lens is the Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism. Oasys should be coming out with a toric lens this year.

I have contacts and it is not about the best type.its just contacts its not like glasses.Glasse shave many styles, contacts are pretty invisible it doesnt matter what kind/type,there contacts.

acuvue...
they let your eyes breathe, as said in the commercials. i wear them and i guess it's true.

Obviously Phillup doesn't wear contacts...lol. I used to use Acuvue dailies. New pair every day, then I got lasik. Its the best $1400 I ever spent. If I had to spend another $1400 tomorrow or go back to contacts/glasses I would spend it again. You should talk to your doctor about what you are trying to get out of your contacts though. are they a bother all day? after a long day of computer work? do you hate taking them in and out everyday? there are lots of different kinds for different things. The best for me might not be what you want.

it depends on how much cylinder and axis, H2O 54% can mask a low cyl and there is a low cly @ approx. 60 something for in-betweens.Next, comfort wise vertex toric.

This same question is asked many times.

The best toric lens is the one that works for you .

There are many brands, and they all exist because the same brand doesn't work for everyone.

Only your eyecare professional while doing the fitting can determine which one will work best for you, depending on the fit and rotation of the lens, as well as the curvature and power you may need that can also limit the choice available.

You can get 100 responses , but none of them may be the best for you.

When someone tells you that BLAH BLAH is the BEST! YIPPIE! Ask them WHY, ask them to explain why--preferably using their own experiences to validate their victorious selection.

I praise Purevision contacts lenses, including the toric. The "wavefront" inspired technology Bausch & Lomb developed for these lenses is incredible--it, along with the greater thickness of Bausch & Lomb's Airgel silicone hydrogel material, elevates the optics of soft contact lenses to darn near rigid GP status--the spherical aberration control and visual acuity with Purevision contact lenses has just blown me away.

I have been particularly impressed with the centralization of the Purevision toric--I have VERY, very little rotation of my lenses causing temporarily blurriness--a notorious toric CL issue. When it has very occasionally happened a good hard blink and it's instantly back in place.

Plus the silicone hydrogel material (Airgel) really works with my eyes--I could easily wear these lenses for 7 straight days and nights (and maybe longer) with no problems--these lenses (soaked in Replenish) cause much less drying out or eye irritation than others. I try not to sleep in them, but I have and it's fine with a fine drops in the morning to lube things up...

I will admit that the Purevision toric is not the most comfortable soft CL to get use to--the thicker material and the thin/thick toric design makes for a lens with more lens awarness for at least a day or two until you get used to them--and it's not that they are uncomfortable, but you can feel them a little. But for the long wearing hours with no problems and greater optical quality, to me it's still a no-brainer to choose Purevision.

The ProClear lenses were also very comfortable for long hours, but nothing like the SiH Purevisions. The vision was decent, but nothing like the higher definition of the Purevision.
