There are 2 week or monthly disposables.

The 2 week disposables are usually a lot thinner and therefore will deteriorate faster. After many tests done on them before they are brought to market, they know that after 2 weeks the lenses ability to transmit oxygen to your corneas is greatly reduced. But thinner usually means more comfort.

The monthly lenses are a bit thicker, and of a different material and last at least twice as long before getting to that stage.

Wearing them much longer than what they are made for can starve your corneas of oxygen.

Although the monthly lenses seem to be ok for many people for close to 2 months with good care. For people who produce lots of protein in their system, 1 month is plenty. Those people will know it by the lack of comfort.

For the best comfort though, it is best to change after a month.

The 2 week lenses rarely are comfortable after the 2 weeks are up...maybe a few days.

The oxygen transmission abilities and comfort of a new lens is always a lot better than a lens that is a few months old.

Disposables are a lot healthier for the eyes than the " permanent" lenses that are worn for many months. The market for those types is very very small now.

They will start getting blurry and you wont be able to see as well with those contacts. You can wear them a little longer then they say ussualy.

well you can get an eye infection, I wore mine for 2 months and regretted it 3 weeks of meds and no contacts for 3 mo. I hated every minute of it but learn my lesson.
