Lazer eye surgery ?!

Question: i might be getting lazer eye surgery and im wondering what happens when you do it ?
is there any cutting or slicing, or shaving done to my eye ? and what happens once the surgery is done ? im a bit nervous about medical stuff so tell me as much info about it as you can.

Laser surgery is reshaping the cornea to alter the refractive (light bending property) power of the eye. They do this by slicing a flap off the front of the cornea then using the laser to re-shape the cornea.
Really, any good (honest and decent) laser clinic should explain this to you.
It's cosmetic surgery, it's not a procedure that you need doing so take that into account. Research the clinic you are thinking of using, and remember do not let price influence your choice.
Your prescription is never normally stable your whole life so be aware that you will probably be wearing glasses again at some point. Contact lenses allow you to see without glasses and they can change with your prescription so is a much safer bet.
I personally would never have laser surgery done, nor would I let my mum have it done... think about that.

Laser eye surgery reshapes the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. This changes its focusing power.

There are different types of laser eye surgery. LASIK - laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis
