How many Eye surgery's are there?!

Question: For example, i've recently looked up PRK and Lasik eye surgery, but i've heard theres another one. The other one is when a doctor sticks a needle in your eye, pull it out, and your cured. Theres an episode on ''House MD'' on it, where some kid had complications with his brain-eyes, and tried a lot. In the end the kid just had a needle stuck in his eye, he was cured, and had 20/20 vision, this is just a TV show, but i've heard rumors this was possible. Can anyone confirm?

The only episode of "House" where I can remember him sticking a needle into an eye, was where a kid was getting night terrors and he performed a retinal biopsy (a real, but very rare procedure) - putting a needle into the eye to get a tissue sample from the retina. This confirmed a rare disease which was cured by giving him interferon. But this has nothing to do with vision!

Other types of eye surgery for vision correction are:

Corneal Onlays and Inlays - a new treatment where a biocompatible material is inserted just beneath the eye surface.

Implantable lenses - an implant is inserted between the cornea and the iris.

Refractive lens exchange - where your eye lense is actually replaced by an artificial one.

CK (Conductive Keratoplasty) - radio waves are used to heat and change the shape of the cornea.

I don't watch house and it looks like someone already answered that but as far as how many types of eye sx's there are ... there are hundreds probably. Every specialist has different types of sx's they can do. Cataract sx is very common and there are many different types of cat. sx. There are sx's for everything under the sun from different types of Lasik to sx for macular degeneration to cosmetic sx to repair a iris that was mishaped.

There are countless eye surgeries.

The only 'needle-sticking' procedure I've seen is a, 'anterior chamber paracentesis'. It's used sometimes to treat extremely high eye pressure. The eye is numbed with drops, and the Dr. uses a needle to make a small hole in the anterior chamber, allowing a few drops of fluid to be released. This gives the patient immediate relief, but it's usually temporary.
