Can someone explain how the "Warm compresses" process works?!

Question: I have been suffering from pain and dryness in my eyes. Beside using lubricant drops, many ppl have adviced me to do the "Warm compresses". But honestly, I don't know how it happens as I cant even understand their meaning (I am not American). Can someone with experience explain this process to me using simple English.

Do you mean how to do it rather than how it works?

Lourdes explained how it works.

To do it, get a fresh clean washcloth, tea bag or one of those blue gel warm/cold reusable packs. Soak wash cloth in very hot water, pour boiling water over the tea bag or gel pack and let steep for 2-3 minutes. Wring out the wash cloth, remove tea bag or gel pack from water. Let tea bag cool for a few minutes so it won't burn skin. Wrap gel pak in dry towel or wash cloth. Place wash cloth, tea bag or wrapped gel pack over closed eyes and keep it there for 5-10 minutes.

Who are the people recommending the warm compress? It works for dry eyes due to blepharitis but may not help other dry eyes. You should see an eye doctor to find out why your eyes are dry and what to do.

warm compress dilates blood vessels and hasten the distribution of oxyginated blood even to the distal parts of the body, feeding them with minute foos supplies and oxygen
